ITKC-Project Details

Government of Goa has envisaged an objective of “Creation of a large pool of computer literate manpower which will be very helpful for state to make the exercise of introducing e-governance solutions much more meaningful and enabling the citizens for quality job opportunities” in IT Software/IT enabled services including BPO.

As a part of Goa IT Mission, IT Knowledge project will have at least one IT Knowledge Centers at each of the 36 census towns and at four major towns namely Panaji, Margao, Mapusa and Mormugao

The IT Knowledge Project initiative will reap the benefits of IT revolution and will provide ICT access to all sections of the society, bridging the divide between “Information poor” and “Information rich”, developing locally relevant content, skill-set up gradation of the common people, and ensuring content, to be generated in local language are the objectives of the project.

All the centers will have quality internet connectivity and will be connected to the Goa Boardband Network (GBBN). The vision is to give computer training to at least one member of every family till the village level.

The centers will also provide job oriented IT training to the local youth.
