The SDC was inaugurated at the hands of Hon. Chief Minister Shri. Laxmikant Parsekar in the presence of Shri. R. K. Srivastava, Chief Secretary, Shri. Ameya Abhayankar, Director, Information Technology Department (DOIT), Nilesh B. Fal Dessai, Managing Director, Info Tech Corporation of Goa Ltd (ITG), Shri. Umakant Naik, Manager (IT), ITG, Shri. Vishwesh Naik, Dy. Manager(Admn & Acts), ITG, Shri. Praveen Volvotkar, Dy. Director, DOIT, Shri. Siddarth Borkar, Network Administrator, DOIT Shri. Mohit Dhingra, Marketing Manager, Orange Business Services, Shri. Bibekanand Padhy, Head CoE and Projects, Orange, Shri. Anand Sugla, Project Director, Orange and other officials of DOIT, ITG and Orange.

State Data Centre (SDC) is a NeGP project of Government of India (GOI) with 50 % funding from GOI. Info Tech Corporation of Goa Ltd (ITG) is the State Designated Agency for the Implementation of the SDC project of the Department of Information Technology (DoIT), Government of Goa (GOG). M/s Orange Business Services India Technology Pvt. Ltd. is appointed as the agency for Design, Supply, Installation, Configuration, Operations and Maintenance of Physical and IT Infrastructure for State data Center for Goa

State Data Centre (SDC), Goa has been designed and built keeping integrity, accessibility and reliability of application and data services to Goa citizens and Government Departments.

The State Data Center will be a key-supporting element of e-Government Initiatives. State Data Center will provide access to the e-Governance applications to the Goa citizens via public Internet and to Government employees through the Goa Broadband Network (GBBN).

State Data Center would provide much functionality like Central Data Repository, Secure Data Storage, Online Delivery of Services, Citizen Information/Services Portal, State Portal, Disaster Recovery, Remote Management and Service Integration.

The State Data Centre has been built at a cost of Rs. 30,04,59,612.47 including capital expenditure and recurring expenses over the next 5 years.

All the Government departments will be requested to make use of state Data centre for hosting e-Governance Application instead of creating their own infrastructure. It would help in reducing the burden on State exchequer and at the same time help in the integration of online applications of various departments. ITG and DoIT have revolutionized the way Goa citizens and Government Departments interacts.

The HIMS application deployed at the SDC on the production server under cloud environment is live w.e.f. 06/11/2016 and is being used by the Directorate of Health Services and the Goa Medical College. ITG has initiated the Final Acceptance Test (FAT) / TPA verification before Go-Live and is likely to start next week. The same will be followed by application / data migration from the Old SDC at Porvorim.
